October 2019, New Delhi: The Indian Society for Training & Development (ISTD) and National Open College Network (NOCN) UK, signed the Memorandum of Understanding at Indian Habitat Center, New Delhi. They both will be working together on “Internationally Certified Trainer Programme” wherein ISTD will build flexible employer led programmes and qualifications for individuals, employers, employer groups and communities for helping Indian business to thrive and grow and NOCN will provide Quality Assurance standards and International Certification of the ISTD courses delivered. This will not only raise the skill bars of Indian trainers but will also provide a global platform with abundance of opportunities.Arvind Khode, Chairman, Certification and Accreditation Board, ISTD said that Indian Economy is growing dynamically and growth of Asian economy is equally challenging which is expected to dominate the global market. This growth is attracting huge FDI’s, foreign business, partnerships, Start-up’s etc. which calls for upgrading and skilling of manpower which further leads to the need of training them. In order to address these global expectations from trainers, ISTD and NOCN both have joined hands.Graham Hasting-Evans, Managing Director of NOCN said “NOCN has been designing and operating consistent and reliable vocational skills assessment tests and examinations for nearly 30 years. We are delightCd to be able to support ISTD by quality assuring and providing international certification for their new courses.” ISTD has come up with a product to develop L&D professionals, specifically designed for trainers. It has been developed to recognize, provide credibility to trainers who will be equipped with advanced skills and a global orientation. The industry trade or commerce is groping in the dark in search of a real professional trainers who can deliver to meet their L&D needs. The five day evaluation – based program will address the industry’s concern which will strengthen the learners with advanced skills covering instructional design, training delivery, learning and technologies. It will focus on class performance skills, presentation skills, module structure, conceptual skills and class control skills.
